Hey Ladies –
Our club team 2 Days Slow
has participated in several tourneys in the Midwest over the past couple
years. It's been a lot of fun and we hope to do it again this year. Some
quick info about the team: we don't have regular practices, but we try
to have 1 or 2 in the week(s) before a tourney, just to get everyone on
the same page. All skill levels are welcome, and everyone who goes to
the tourney plays as much as everyone else, regardless of skill level.
We run a structured offense, play zone defense etc., but the emphasis is
on learning and having fun, not winning (though we try to do that too!).
We've had at least a couple newbies at almost every tourney, so don't
worry about not having much experience.
Just for clarification,
we are not Madison Jazz or Johnny Cocktail. Johnny Cocktail has
disbanded. Madison Jazz is a more competitive women's club team but they
also welcome beginners. If you are looking for a more structured team
with regular practices, their contact information is available at
www.mufa.org
Finally, please pass this
info on to any women you think would like to play. Playing on 2 Days
Slow does not preclude playing on other club teams or any other teams
for that matter. If you only want to play one or two tourneys, that's
fine too.
Thanks,
Grace, Kris and Sue
