We are Chapter 181

Huggy has volunteered to check into non-profit status

2. public meeting – feedback

Kris – thought it was worthwhile, there are other ways to get input besides public meeting

Robin – thought it was phenomenal success and we should do it more often

KJ – mixed feelings – wanted there to be more input from the public – should be held once per year in January

Sue – thought it went great

Matt – thought it went great, pretty much as he expected

Dan – thought it went well, thinks we should do it at least once per year

3.MUFA goals

b. promote ultimate

- media – should do more to raise awareness to the general public

- youth programs – get kids started early, mini-courses?

KJ will look into teaching an MSCR youth course in Ultimate

Uses for MUFA finances

Priorities

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Matt will make Wiki for the website

Dan thinks we should have an on-line suggestion box

Kate’s Proposal (see meeting minutes for Jan 07)

Motion 1: Any team can ask for a grant under the current system on the webpage. Passed: 5-1-1

Motion 2: Decline Kate’s proposal.

Passed 6-0-1

Motion 3: accept Item 1 of Kate’s proposal with the following amendments:

To pay only for 2007 for a total of 2000$ ($1000 each for UW Madison men’s and women’s ultimate club programs)

Amendment to motion 3: reimburse for tourney fees for UPA series (All UW Madison men’s and women’s ultimate club teams)

4-3 amendment passed

Motion 3 (amended):

passed 4-3

*** Clarification: ‘UW Madison ultimate club teams’ refers to teams such as Bella Donna, which are considered ‘club’ teams at UW. This is not to be confused with the term ‘club team’ as used by the UPA. ***

4. MUFA structure

Do we need to change the structure

If there were to be voting – Dan says that people who vote should have something vested in the ultimate community. Should we take a general public poll or perhaps an open meeting on the topic?

a. current comfort level – functioning well currently, but looking to get the community involved

b the Plan – MUFA has one but it needs to be updated to encompass long term visions.

Brad will mail the Plan on email to discuss

Update the plan
