ABOUT GOALTIMATE:
Combining the best elements of Ultimate with key improvements to make the sport more fun to play and more fun to watch. Goaltimate differs from Ultimate in that the playing field is smaller, an arched goal is utilized. Goaltimate challenges hand-eye coordination, perseverance and strategic thinking. MUFA Goaltimate games are self-officiated.

SUMMARY OF THE GAME:
The game starts from behind the Clear Line when a Defensive player taps the disc held by an Offensive player. This is called a “Check disc”. The Offensive player establishes a pivot foot, similar to Basketball, then throws the disc to a teammate within the field of play. Possession is maintained as long as the throws are completed. The disc is thrown from player to player, in order to penetrate the Goal, which scores a point. If the Defense intercepts the disc, a turnover occurs and if the Defense knocks down the disc, an incomplete pass occurs. A turnover also occurs when the Offense fails to throw the disc within 5-seconds, known as “Stalling”. Stalling happens after the Defensive player counts aloud to five. This makes the action non-stop and thrilling!
Each goal counts for 1 point, with 2 points awarded for Goals thrown from behind the Clear Line. After a score, the offense maintains possession and must work the disc back to the Clear Line in order to advance for another score. Games are played to 5 points.

SIMPLE RULES:
1. Disc is passed from player to player. Once the player catches the disc, they must establish a pivot foot and may not run with the disc. Momentum allows for two steps.
2. Object of the game: To throw the disc through the arched goal with the disc then being caught by the Offensive Receiver in the end zone.
3. Each goal is worth one point unless the disc is thrown from the red line which then results in a two point shot.
4. Team that scores the goal maintains possession and must work the disc back to behind the clearline before advancing for another score.
5. After a goal is scored the disc may not pass backward through the arched goal. The disc must be thrown around or over the arch.
6. Games are played to five points apiece.
7. After catching the disc, the players have only five seconds to get rid of it. Listen for other players counting the “stall count” out loud on the field!
8. Teams have four players on the field. Players can substitute at any time during the game. The players can “sub on the fly”, but must slap each other’s hands without interfering with play.
9. Goaltimate is a non-contact sport. The game instills Sportsmanship with player’s calling their own fouls on one another.
10. Violation if either player stands in the goal or the arch in front of the goal for more than three seconds. Both offensive and defensive players must stay active within the goal or 3-second arch. First time is warning with second violation resulting in a power play by opposing team.
